Ponytail Palm Care Guide

Despite the name, this plant is actually a succulent and not a palm! So true to its habit, it loves bright sunny spaces and some quality time away from the watering can. We love this plant for its pet friendliness, it’s funky top, and ease of care.

General care: Very low maintenance, 60-80 degree temps.

Light: Direct sun to bright light is ideal, but they can adjust to medium/moderate light.

Water: The drier the better! Only water when soil has dried out completely (or when the plant is at 1-2 on the moisture meter).

When does it eat? Use a regular houseplant food at half strength twice during the growing season. Over fertilizing will burn foliage.

Toxicity: This plant is nontoxic to people and pets.

Do:

-Be easy on water! Let the soil dry completely before watering. -Pull off yellowing or dried out foliage when necessary.

-Place in very bright light if possible.

Don’t:

-Overwater, or leave it in standing water. -Feed too often, foliage might brown or burn.
